do you see the mailbox even if you use the exchange management shell, user arrtibutes need to be replicated properly beofre exchange tools show mailbox in new servers also you might want to refresh the console and check Dhruv

What happens if you run clean-mailboxdatabase against the source database? When you tried to remove that source database, does it complain that you cant because it still contains mailboxes?

I have not run clean -mailbox database yet since the database still has mailboxes in it that need moving out to another database at which time i can safely remove it. Does clean-mailbox database remove all the mailboxes ?Peter clausen

No, it simply marks disconnected mailboxes correctly, i.e. cleans things up logically. Give it a try.

Yes, you can run as much as you want :) Check the event logs afterwards, it will tell you how many mailboxes were marked for deletion.
